About the data

Every page on this site is generated from one dataset of manufacturer warranty terms for products sold in India. This page says where the figures come from, what the labels mean and how to get an error fixed.

How terms are collected

  • Only official sources count: a warranty page, PDF, manual, warranty card, FAQ or press release on the brand's own domain. Retailer listings, forum posts and memory of a brand's policy are never used.
  • Each record stores the exact URL that was read, the date it was fetched and the brand's own wording for every component term. The wording appears on the page as a quotation so you can check the reading.
  • A figure that could not be found on an official source is stored as null and shown as “not stated”. Null never means “no”.
  • Where a brand gives a bare number for a component and does not say whether it includes the standard period, the record says so (“total or additional not stated”) instead of guessing.
  • The site never computes an end date for a warranty. It shows the months and the conditions the brand states, and the rule for when the period starts.
  • When a brand changes its terms, the earlier record is kept and marked superseded, with the purchase dates it applied to, because the older term still governs products bought in that window.
  • Every term is India only. Brands publish different terms in different countries, and this dataset does not mix them.

What confidence means

High
Every figure was read from an official page, with the wording captured, and nothing was inferred.
Medium
The main figures were read from an official page, but at least one secondary field was inferred (for example, that the period counts from the invoice date because the page does not say otherwise). Inferred fields are listed on the page.
Low
The page was hard to read (blocked, rendered by script, or contradictory) or the reading rests on a single ambiguous sentence. Low-confidence records are marked unverified on every page that shows them.

What “unverified” means

A record is shown with an “Unverified” box when any of these is true:

  • its confidence is low;
  • it was last verified more than 180 days before the site was built, so the brand may have changed the page since;
  • it has not yet been checked against an official source at all.

The figures are still shown, with their source, so you can check the page yourself. Nothing on this site replaces the warranty card or the brand's own terms.

Verification dates

Each record carries the date it was last verified against its source. Pages show the most recent date among the records they contain, and each source link shows when the page was fetched. The footer of every page shows when this site was built.

How to report an error

If a figure disagrees with a brand's current official page, email hello@alongkeep.com with the page URL on this site, the brand's URL and the sentence that contradicts it. Corrections open a review item; a changed source page never edits a term automatically.
